THE PEARSE REPLICA AT SHUTTLEWORTH
29-6-2003

Originally MOTAT sponsored this visit in 2003. Sadly this 'flying' replica is still languishing unpacked in its crate (Sept. 2007). However there are rumours that it might be exhibited by Timaru Museum, near Waitohi where Pearse made his historic 'flights' possibly as early as 1903.

One of the main sponsors for the visit of the plane to/from the UK was Air New Zealand Cargo.

The other main sponsor for the people involved was Cathay Pacific.
